FAQ

What can I expect in the first session?

During the first session we will go over paperwork, and get to know each other. You will be able to ask any question you may have about therapy, and this is the time where we figure out what issue(s) you want to discuss in the following sessions. Once the issue is identified, we then explore what types of goals and outcomes you want to get out of therapy.

Who goes to therapy?

Anyone can go to therapy. Whether you are struggling with anxiety or just want to talk about life, therapy can be beneficial for all who choose to utilize it. There may be a stigma that those who go to therapy are seen as weak, but I believe that it is incredibly strong and brave to reach out. Everyone needs help every once in a while, and together I believe that we can collaborate and decide what goals you want to reach while in therapy.

How often should I go to therapy?

It really depends on the issue being brought into therapy. Some clients come in once a week, while others come in once a month. You get to decide how often you want to come in, but I do give input on frequency depending on the issue and the goals the client wants to achieve.

How much does therapy cost?

I typically charge $125 per 50-minute session.

I accept cash, check, and all major credit cards as forms of payment.

What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that was initially designed to alleviate distress that is associated with traumatic memories. It is an 8-phase treatment and eye-movements (bi-lateral stimulation) are used during the treatment. The therapist and the client will collaborate and figure out what memories to target. For more information on this therapy, please feel free to contact me so we could further discuss.
